History
With almost identical performance of the 1973 Carrera RS Touring, the 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI is said to have been the fastest road 911 of those with mechanical aspiration, produced until the end of the 1980s.
This is its identity card: 210 hp, 2,687 cc type 911/83 engine with horizontal opposed air-cooled cylinders. Bosch mechanical injection, five-speed manual gearbox. Independent front and rear suspension with torsion bars, McPherson struts and anti-roll bar, trailing arms and tubular shock absorbers. Anti-roll bar and disc brakes on all four wheels. Wheelbase of 2,271 mm.
The adoption of the new aluminum bumpers equipped with internal shock absorbers involved the use of a new muffler with differently arranged tailpipes.
All models were equipped with a front spoiler that reduced the lightening effect of the front axle and improved stability at high speeds.
In the interior design, the most important innovation was the new lightweight seats with incorporated head restraints, equipped with inertial safety belts. On the door panels appeared rigid pockets for objects with a hinged lid and the two buttons for the control of the electric windows. All switches and control panels were covered in soft material and arranged so as not to cause injury to the car occupants in the event of an accident.
Generally speaking, more than in the past, Porsche focused its attention both on the outside and inside of the car to enhance the safety factor, a theme that was starting to take hold in the early 1970s.

Our Porsche 911 Carrera
This is a rare version, produced for a very short period and equipped with the engine and components identical to the 1973 RS.
The car is in impeccable condition, thanks to the meticulous restoration by Freisinger Motorsport of Karlsrhue (D), considered the best Porsche restorer in the world.
The extraordinary Freisinger craftsmen brought the body back to life and then repainted it in its original color, a sparkling Mexico blue, that renowned “Blau Mexico” wellknown to Porsche enthusiasts.
The black-blue interior is perfectly preserved, as are the black leatherette seats.
The dashboard, including the original instrument panel, is well preserved, fully functional and covered with the original manufacturer's leatherette.
The car is equipped with original Porsche options of the time, which make its equipment completely "full", with bumpers, increased battery, radio antenna, noise filters and speakers.
The rims are in alloy, front 6Jx15 and rear 7Jx15, while the shock absorbers are from the historic brand Bilstein.
The car, coming from Great Britain, was registered in Italy in 2015 by a well-known Milan collector of noble lineage. Since then, the car has remained in Italy and has been kept in perfect working condition by its owner.

The Test on the road
This fascinating 911 Carrera from 1974 still preserves the driving sensations of the RS that preceded it, with the result that the road test carried out by our drivers was an exciting ride during which the car was able to express all its sporty nature.
Given that, there is no 911 that is not passionate about the sound of its boxer 6-cylinder, our Carrera proved to be docile at low revs, but very reactive when launched. However, it remains a demanding car to drive, despite the "few" horses under the hood.
No power steering, no ABS, no traction and/or stability controls: a lot of sensitivity is always required for fast driving, with particular attention to the front, which was rather light and always "difficult" to manage on the 911s of that period.
Since its appearance on the market, the 1973 911 Carrera Coupé has remained one of the most requested Porsches ever by drivers and collectors around the world, while also maintaining a strong tendency to maintain stable prices, even in turbulent market situations.
Today it is possible to view the car online, by booking a call with one of our commercial operators, via Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp and Google Meet platforms.
