1966 ABARTH 1300 OT
The Abarth 1300 OT created in 1965 at the behest of Carlo Abarth, making use of the 1000 SP project, to have a homologated coupé, therefore built in a minimum of 50 examples, also for road use but aimed at competitions, in the 2 years of its career it achieved, both on the track and uphill, with private and official drivers, over 1000 victories culminating with the 1966 World Title 1st Sports Division.
Our car was built in 1966 with a certificate of origin dated 14 July with fiberglass bodywork designed by Mario Colucci and produced by Sibona & Basano in Red colour, later, with Scuderia Nettuno in Yellow/Cream color and interior with original black imitation leather seats, black dashboard and gray chassis.
Chassis number 137/0035, 1967 first registration with Bologna license plate BO 335209, in 1969 the license plate changed to Parma PR156033 which has remained the same to this day, in 1983. Officially removed for unpaid stamp duty, in the early 2000s purchased by a collector and great connoisseur of the brand who carried out a meticulous restoration, respecting the originality and re-registration to the PRA. ASI certificate 04/13/2005, original registration document from 1969.
Photographic documentation of the complete restoration, over one hundred photos of the time with lists of participants in the races held, works and other documents that guarantee its authenticity.
Restoration of the bodywork carried out by Faralli, a well-known Tuscan restorer of vintage cars, the engine, chassis and gearbox carried out by Gianni Baistrocchi Parma, an Abarth expert, the prestigious 5-bearing engine with double overhead camshaft and dry sump was run in on the bench with a power curve of 150 HP at 8750 rpm, all the parts which at the time created reliability problems were replaced, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and valves and rebuilt exactly as the originals but using modern materials, all original engine parts still in good condition are available. original but not original equipment engine number 63 instead of number 35, at the time if it had broken during a race, the engine would have been replaced with a new rotation one by Abarth and the original was not always reinstalled afterwards.
The car has traveled 50 km since the restoration in December 2024. Both the engine and gearbox oils, the brake fluid and the petrol have been changed, as every year, to keep the car 100% efficient and is in perfect condition ready for competitions, rallies and international events where, given its historical interest, it is always welcomed by the organisers.
The sporting life of the car is divided between various private drivers, under the aegis of the Scuderia Nettuno of Bologna and S. Michele Parma. Below are some races and names of drivers:
