The Territory
AT THE HEART OF THE ITALIAN MOTOR VALLEY
A vast plain furrowed by the slow waters of the great Po river, Italy’s longest. An immense, fertile garden landscaped by man’s skilful hands and ancient traditions that favoured the creation and development of excellent food products. The old Via Emilia, built by the Romans, connects the iconic cities as true beating hearts of the Food Valley: Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Forlì, Cesena and Rimini. Territories and peoples that created products with premium taste which made Made in Italy food appreciated all over the world.
Parmigiano Reggiano, prosciutto di Parma, Zibello’s culatello, Modena's cotechino, Bologna’s mortadella, Traditional Modena Balsamic Vinegar, piadina romagnola, the Salt of Cervia. In addition to an incredible variety of typical products like bread, pasta, wines and cured meats of any shape and taste. There are 44 PDOs and PGIs in the Emilia Romagna region: a true world record. Because of this extraordinary gastronomic offer and manufacturing mastery the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) was established in Parma.
A land of a thousand flavours and colours that has the honour of being home to several Michelin-starred restaurants. In Modena, the Osteria Francescana of Massimo Bottura, crowned ‘world’s best’ by “50 Best Restaurant” and the three stars of the iconic red guide. But that’s not all: Arnaldo and Cà Matilde in Reggio Emilia, Strada Facendo and the Erba del Re in Modena, San Domenico, I Portici, Il Marconi and the Trattoria d’Amerigo in Bologna, Parizzi and Inkiostro in Parma and many more. A wonderful journey between flavours and delicacies for the palate.
Emotions rise further. The Emilia-Romagna region has always been the Motor Valley, the undisputed symbol of a sporty heart and an unrivalled industrial district in the world’s motor scene. Racing, passion, icons and history of the two and four wheels. This is where the brands that are the symbol and dream of lovers and professionals around the globe were born and continue to live, in constant technological evolution. Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ducati, Dallara. An ecosystem that includes prestigious circuits such as Imola, Misano Adriatico, Varano de’ Melegari and Modena. As well as unmissable museums like MEF, dedicated to Enzo Ferrari, and the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, where the iconic brand is located.
